Duke University Golf League - July 25

We played in the golf league. It rained over night Monday night and stopped about 10 AM then started again about 3 PM until 4:45 PM. The course was soaked and we were not allowed to drive the carts off the pathways.

I play exectionally bad with four snowman, two sevens, a six and two fives. My best holes were the four Double Bogeys. and the worst were 2 triple Bogeys and three double pars. I totaled a 62 for the round.

Country Club of Billerica - July 22, 2006

The weather had cooled off in Mass when I played my final nine of my vacation. It was only 85. I lost balls on 2 of the first three holes which contributed to one of my triple bogeys and my quintuple bogey. I also had 3 bogeys and 3 double bogeys for a 54 for 9 holes. Unfortunately we had to stop play for the leagues that were starting at 4 PM.

Holden Hills - July 15, 2006

We went on vacation to visit family in Massachusetts. While there I played three times once with two of my brothers and my sister-in-laws boyfriend. It was the hottest day of the year in Massachusetts, about 95 and humid, pretty much normal for North Carolina all June, July and August.

The first round was at Holden Hills It is not a real long course but it requires accuracy. I played my normal round 1 Par, 7 Bogeys, 5 double Bogeys, 2 triple bogeys and 2 quad bogeys for a 103.

The first hole is a 354 yard par 4 . I hit a decent drive to about 160 yards from the green and hit a prefect shot with my 5 Hybrid Iron into the brush in the back of the green and never found it. I chipped on to the back of the green from the brush and three putted for a triple bogey 7.

Tthe second hole is a 592 yard par 5 long and straight. I hit my drive down the right side of the fairway the hit a iron about 25 yards from the rough. my next shot ended about 190 fro the green and I hit my 3 hybrid iron to the fringe and I 2 putted for a bogey 6.

The third hole is a 170 yard par 3. I hit my drive to the rough on the left and chipped onto the green and 2 putted for a bogey 4.

The fourth hole is a short 309 yard par 4. that I hit a bogey 5 and I followed that up with a quad bogey 8 on a 312 yard par 4. That was how the day went. I made a par then followed it with a double bogey 7 on a short 444 yard par 5. I had three bogeys on Par fours and then a quad bogey on a 325 yard par 4.

Duke League - July 11, 2006

I got out with the league again today for the first time in three weeks. My former teammate (Bo) is back. We played the front nine this week. Last night it was finally hot out (90+ and humid) but I was still unable to play decently.

I opened the round up with a 6 and did not improve much all night. The only good was making Bogey on first Par 3. On the first hole my drive was short and down the right side of the fairway on a dogleg left. I then proceeded to stubb it down the left side of the fairway into a trap in front of the green from there I chipped within 5 inches and tapped in my putt.

The second hole is another dogleg left and I began the same short drive and down the right side of the fairway. I then proceeded to stubb it down the left side of the fairway into a trap in front of the green from there I chipped within 5 feet of the pin. and I two putted for another 6.

The third hole I was again on the right side of the fairway from there I proceeded to hit a shot further right and brought a willow tree into play and took 4 chips and 2 putts for an 8.

The fourth hole is a short par 3 over a creek. I landed on the edge of the green 60 feet from the pin in front of the green. I chipped halfway and two putted for a bogey.

The fifth hole is a straight open par 4. I hit my drive down the right side (I see a theme) short of the trap about 150 yards out. From there I hit an Iron to the front of the green then flubbed a chip and three putted for a 6.

The sixth hole is a short par 4 straight and wide open. I hit my drive down the right side short of the trap about 150 yards out. From there I hit an Iron to the front of the green then flubbed a chip and three putted for a 6. Almost exactly the same shot for shot as the previous hole.

The seventh hole is a long par 5 with a creek right in front of the green. I hit a good drive down that a tree branch knocks down into a fairway trap. I chip out of the trap into the deep rough and and hit it several more times before sinking a 15 footer to save an 8.

My drive on the eighth hole is short and lands in the left of the hole. From the rough I hit short of the green chip on and two putt for a 5.

We get to the ninth hole, I am soaked from sweating in the heat, another long par 5 so I hit my drive short down the left side and hit a fairway wood to the middle of the fairway. I follow it up with a good fairway wood shot to 100 yards in front of the green. I hit my wedge up the hill to the green and three putt for a 7 and a total of 56 shots. I lost my match 5.5-3.5 and Bo loses his match 5.5-3.5 and we lost the overall for a grand total 14-7 loss.
