Duke Golf League - The Crossings June 5, 2007
Week 8 - Tuesday the 5th of June my team was playing High Handicappers on the front nine (third straight week ) using the blue tees. I ended my streak of good golf
The first hole is an uphill 410 par 4 dog leg left. I hit my drive down the middle of the fairway about 225 from the green from there I hooked a three wood into the woods on the left. I dropped on the edge of the woods about 140 yards short of the green I then hit my 6 iron short of the Green about 10 feet. Then I chipped on and three putted for an eight. My opponent shot five.
The second hole is over a mound in the fairway to a green with a stream across the front 325 yard par 4. My drive went left and I had to take an unplayable lie about 165 yards from the green. I hit my 5 Hybrid right into a second unplayable lie about 15 yards to the right of the green then I hit my wedge short of the green and hit it a second time to get on the green and I three putted for a nine. My opponent shot an five.
The third hole is a 329 yard straight par 4 to an elevated green. My drive went right but playable and I hit my 5 iron from an awkward stance to about 140 yards from the green. From there I hit my 6 Iron onto the green and two putted for a five. My opponent shot eight.
The fourth hole is a 341 yard par 4 dogleg left. I hit my drive down the middle to about 140 yards form the green. From there I hit my 5 hybrid to about 5 yards short of the green on the right side. I then chipped onto the green and two putted for a five. My opponent shot six.
The fifth hole is a 339 yard par 4 dogleg left. I hit a hit my drive down the right side of the fairway about 195 yards from the green. I then hit my fairway wood to about 10 yards short of the green and chipped twice to get on the green and three putted for a seven. My opponent shot four.
The sixth hole is a 131 yard par 3 over a gully. I hit my drive about 10 feet left of the green and chipped on and three putted for a five. My opponent shot a six.
The seventh hole is a downhill 383 yard dogleg left with a creek across the fairway about 150 yards to the hole. I hit my drive down the right about 220 yards from the green I then hit my fairway wood left into the wood so I took my Mulligan and hit my wedge to the 150 yard marker. Next I hit my 5 hybrid to 25 yards short of the green and I chipped on and three putted for a seven. My opponent shot an five.
The Eighth hole is a 175 yard par 3 over a gully. I hit my 5 hybrid iron to about 85 feet right of the pin in the woods and lost. I dropped where I went in and chipped over the back of the green then I chipped on and I four putted for an eight. My opponent shot a four.
The Ninth hole is a 485 yard dogleg left over the water twice par 5. I hit my drive perfectly across the water and it trickled down to the edge of the creek about 195 to the green and 145 across the water hazard. From there I sliced my 5 hybrid fairway wood across the water into the hazard area 4 times before I gave up and took a 12 (league max). My opponent shot a six.
I shot a 64 and lost 6 balls and lost my match 5.5 to 3.5. Next week we go back the ponds on the back nine.
